Storefront owner AVRECO – The Park Group, a wholesale insurance brokerage located in Chicago, is pleased to announce the hiring of Sarah Dore, CPCU, to the position of Senior Vice President within the Healthcare department.
Prior to joining AVRECO, Ms. Dore worked as an independent insurance consultant, specializing in assisting insurance companies, brokers, agents, and healthcare providers with the strategic planning, underwriting, marketing, and product development initiatives for their medical professional liability insurance business. She also served as the rate survey editor for Medical Liability Monitor, an independent newsletter focusing on medical malpractice insurance trends and issues. Mr. Dore is a frequent speaker at insurance industry and healthcare industry events.
Ms. Dore began her career in 1971 with CNA Insurance in the claims department. She joined Prudential in 1974 as a Litigation Claim Consultant. After returning to CNA in 1977, Sarah progressed through various underwriting and marketing technical and managerial positions. When she left CNA in 1992, she was Senior Manager of Medical Malpractice Marketing. She joined Continental Healthcare in 1992 as Vice President and Underwriting Director and was named President in 1994. After leaving Continental in 1995, she joined Travelers Insurance to head their healthcare professional liability department. She left her position at Travelers as Vice President in 1998. Sarah joined Kemper as Sr. Vice President for Kemper Professional Healthcare, leaving in 2000 to pursue her consulting practice.
Ms. Dore specializes in evaluating malpractice insurance needs, developing underwriting, administrative criteria, coverage options, and policy forms, and marketing strategies for those organizations forming their own medical malpractice insurance programs. She has consulted on the evaluation and formation of several insurance programs countrywide, specifically aimed at physician groups. From time to time, she also provides expert witness testimony dealing with coverage.
Ms. Dore received her CPCU designation in 1982. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. She is an active member of PLUS and ASHRM.
