Certified Act of Terrorism
Under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), a terrorist act eligible for coverage and certified by the Secretary of Treasury. Any such act must involve an attempt to coerce the behavior of the targeted populace (civil or governmental), must exceed a certain dollar amount ($5 million) in total damages, and must occur at the direction of a foreign party. California's SB 228SB 228 California Work Comp New Law
The New California Law SB 228 effective January 1, 2004 requires every California employer to have a certified written Injury & Illness Prevention Program in order to get Workers Compensation Insurance.
Every employer shall establish, implement and maintain an effective written Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) that has been certified for California.
The IIPP must include:
Identifying the person responsible for implementing the IIPP Procedure for identifying workplace hazards and security risks Procedure for reporting unsafe hazards and risks Procedure for correcting hazards and risks A Safety training program for employees, supervisors, and senior management Compliance procedures OSHA Fast Fix provides for employer’s the written Injury & Illness Prevention Program-Certified For California in both English & Spanish that complies with this new SB 228 requirement.
