Insurance Industry News from ProgramBusiness.com

Applied's Real-Time Billing InquiryStorefront Owner Applied Systems, Inc. http://www.programbusiness.com/tracking/sftracker.asp?SFid=140 announced at the ACORD Conference tha a new solution that will enable Applied customers to perform real-time billing and claim inquiries through a carrier's website. The new service, Web Bridge, extends the billing and claim inquiry functionality of carrier websites into the real-time workflows already available to agencies using IVANS Transformation Station(tm).

Web Bridge works by utilizing customer data from the agency's management system and automatically populating the inquiry fields in a carrier's website, eliminating the agent's need to exit his or her management system and manually re-enter the data. The inquiry is performed, and the agent receives the results in seconds. The process utilizes the same workflow on the agent's end as similar Transformation Station transactions in that it is seamlessly integrated within the agency management system and occurs almost instantaneously.

"We already provide all agencies on support the ability to transact with their carriers in real-time with Transformation Station at no additional charge. By now enhancing this service with Web Bridge functionality, we have added an incredible value to our customers by allowing them to now connect in real-time with virtually any carrier with a functioning website," states Wayne Pardue, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Applied Systems. "In addition, as carriers transition from website interfaces into XML-based web services, that transition will be seamless for these agencies."

"We want to offer carriers the ability to provide real-time service for billing inquiries directly through their websites, even if they are not yet ready to implement complete ACORD XML integration within their systems," Pardue continues. "For a nominal set up fee, we can provide any carrier a faster, more efficient workflow with all of its Applied agencies, enabling them to provide the level of service today's insureds demand."

Web Bridge extends Applied's longstanding commitment to providing comprehensive tools for agency-carrier communication. The new service joins existing technologies such as Transformation Station and AL3/AL1 batch interface to provide solutions that make all agency-carrier workflows more efficient.
